Stripper with a Heart of Gold
I remember we were on a train
she told me about a sick kid in Queensland
She’d heard about his condition
thought to herself I think I've got a plan
She hopped onto a plane at her expense but not in vain and went to visit him in hospital and both of their lives changed
To her he was a hero, to him a goddess
he had plenty of flowers and gifts but this
get well present was the best
She is a stripper with a heart of gold
dancing up and down the pole, anybody with a bad word they can say it, it’ll roll right off her back with all the money she making
A few years later things had hit the skids
packed her shit and went to her homeland
a Caribbean island where her family lived, she hadn't been for years
She hopped onto a plane not knowing quite what to expect, a welcoming hug from her family and zero judgement
Planning took so long, she realized there was more so she changed her course but never could have guessed what her life had in store
She is a stripper with a heart of gold
Into her work she puts her heart and soul
Her itty bitty undies on the stage wearing nothing but a smile on her face
She is a stripper with a heart of gold
dancing up and down the pole, anybody with a bad word they can say it, it’ll roll right off her back with all the money she making and
She's got a shady past, knew that it would never last, she's a life coach now and she's managed to kick the habit
Into positivity uncanny flexibility she's making guys happy all round this country and overseas but her favorite time of all is when the guitarist plays a solo
She met her Prince Charming and got all her flights for free traveling the world and practicing naturopathy
To her he was a hero to him a goddess, the fairytale she dreamt of was complete only they know the rest
She is a stripper with a heart of gold
Into her work she puts her heart and soul
Her itty bitty undies on the stage wearing nothing but a smile on her face
She is a stripper with a heart of gold
dancing up and down the pole, anybody with a bad word they can say it, it’ll roll right off her back with all the lives she's changing and they'll wanna take it back
She is a stripper with a heart of gold

Inner West Side Story
We played a show at the Sando it went really well before you know it
security was sweeping is out the door
So naturally, to the Towney after eating a pastitze (pastitsee or three)
I got over excited at a waterfall of cups I got kicked out, but had a plan
Swapped shirts snuck around the back entrance got caught received a life ban
On to King Street, we’ll try Zanzi, not at chance let's hit the bank
but that just closed and things were looking grim
Then we tried the sly fox after trawling half the way down Enmore Road
this night's just beginning let's go
Inner West side story
Back to Stafford Street, to rest our feet, woke my house mates said “let's party”
brought all of the pub back with us
Backyard fires, angry neighbours, we had some police visitors
there was so much that we could discuss
Eventually we had to leave, best to crawl up to the Warren View then
Wait until they open and start again
Inner west side story
This is my life, this is my life story, inner west side story
It’s fuckin our life, it’s fuckin our life story, inner west side story
Don’t fuck with our life, don’t fuck with our life story, inner west side story

Sobered Up

Sobered Up
I made some dumb decisions and I
I dodged some bullets but I came to the conclusion in the end
That I should put the bottles down and step a
Away from all the hangovers and be a friend to all my friends
So I made sure that whatever was in my body was no different to what it naturally should’ve been
And said goodbye to something that had caused so many problems though I thought that it would always be there
I sobered up
The first thing that I noticed was that
That jackhammer inside my skull had been turned off and put away
I had my weekends back and I could
Could spend my time more wisely without throwing money down the drain
Turns out happy wife and family makes a happy life for me though it is under control it is kept at bay
Call me boring, call me old, but the fun is just beginning and I wouldn’t have it any other way
I sobered up
It might make you feel better today
But tomorrow things won’t be okay
It might make you feel better today
But tomorrow things won’t be okay
It might make you feel better today
But tomorrow things won’t be okay
It might make you feel better today
But tomorrow things won’t be okay
But tomorrow things won’t be okay
But tomorrow things won’t be okay
But now tomorrow, things are gonna be okay

What's Your Story?

What's Your Story?
I saw you with a needle in your arm
Hiding behind our shared garage
And you said "Can you please leave me"?
I wonder how your life had got to this
Where did it all go amiss
It got me thinking what's your story
All day I hoped when I got back
You wouldn't be there lying flat
All cold and lifeless on the hard cement
So tell me, what's your story.
Tell me all about it, cause I'm all ears
I saw you crouched over begging for change
Outside the supermarket's gate
Your sign read "Can you please help me"?
I wonder how your life had got to this
Where did it all go amiss
It got me thinking what's your story
And as the coins fell from my hand
You looked up, smiled and said thanks
I just hope it makes a difference.
So tell me, what's your story.
Tell me all about it, cause I'm all ears
Our lives slip by so quickly
And the pages they turn so easily
I'm afraid that one day, I step back reflect and say
I never did ask you what's your story
So tell me, what's your story.
Tell me all about it, cause I'm all ears

Circle Jerk

Circle Jerk
Cap backwards
Standing by the stage with a beard on his face thinking less of
All his fellow peers while he’s sipping trendy beers
And he’s thinking how lame it is that they all idolise, he’ll criticise them all the time
But lets rewind back 10 years to when
This motherfucker’s always laughing, theres something on his mind
As he stands in that circle, patting every body on the back
Little does he know, he’s the clown of the show
When he’s standing in that circle, everybody knows
He’s just standing right next to them, pleasuring the fella on his right
Judgemental
Jumping to conclude that he’s more punk than you
Won’t give you
A second of the day, he’ll just assume ‘You’re Gay’
And unless you know all the words to his favourite songs
Then you’re always wrong and he’ll let you know
On the internet when you get home after the show
Now the shows are full of kids and their pogo shit
And their pickin’ up change and their roundhouse kicks
But 10 years ago this cunt was the king of the pit
Now he’s too hardcore for hardcore
And too old school for you
He’s a fat little chode and he’s coming to a show near you
He’s a grumpy old gronk and he’s come to a show near you
He’s a miserable fuck and he’s standing right next to you

I Want More
I want more love
I want what's right
I want more time
To live my life
I want more love
I want more life
I want it all
I want more fun
I want more nights
I want more done
I want more highs
I want more love
I want more life
I want it all
All my days passing by like a movie montage
I'm left searching for a pause button
haven’t got a spare second to take on board
my remote is broken and I’m stuck in fast forward
I want more Love
I want what's right
I want more time
To live my life
I want more love
I want more life
I want it all
I want more fun
I want more nights
I want more done
I want more highs
I want more love
I want more life
I want it all
I want more sun
I want to shine
I want more beer
I want more wine
I want more love
I want more life
I want it all

Thanks For Coming Out

Thanks for Coming Out
It must’ve been so hard
Growing up
In a world that didn’t know
Who you really were
And I apologise
If I ever made
You feel like you didn’t belong
Even though we were mates
And right now in this moment, I hope you’re happy
And the colours in your rainbow are bright and strong
And despite all your setbacks, both in and out of your life
You’ve proven to yourself that you’ll be fine
You put a smile on my face
Accepted me in your space
And made me second guess that I could be in the wrong place
Sometimes you put up a wall
A joy for all to see
But breaking down inside and then you opened up to me
But right now in this moment I hope you’re happy
And the colours in your rainbow are bright and strong
And despite all the arseholes both in and out of your life
Fuck em all and show them you’ll be fine
We catch up now and then
But always feel like friends
And in a different kind of way we’re together til the end
But right now I’m not sure if you’re happy
Or if the colours in your rainbow are bright or dull
And maybe you don’t know it, and tell you I don’t know how
But we can party any time, thanks for coming out
Thanks for coming out
